Had an awesome weekend last weekend, hitting up London Film and Comic Con. takadainmate and I got up obscenely early and to get into the first of many many queues. It was lots of fun and we also managed to run into (at various points in the day) ionaonie, yavannauk and of course loki_dip who was working at the con. So despite my failure in updating, I am finally back in Japan. The trip back was a lot better than the trip there and I may actually fly Continental again at some point in the future now. At least I was not denied tea this time! That was a serious crime ( Read more... )

Uh oh, this entry may have gotten a little long. I fail at updating lately. So last weekend I went to Nagoya to meet up with reppu. On Friday we had a few drinks with kastra at an izakaya and I was introduced to the amazing Nagoya style chicken wings. Seriously awesome! Well today was about a million times more pleasant than yesterday. I got almost everything I wanted with a minimum of wet clothing. Not such a great first day for Super Comic City. koramay, kastra and I got there pretty early, but the weather was horrible and we stood in the pouring rain for an hour waiting to get in. We went from one end of Tokyo to the other today for two different doujinshi events. And I can say right now, that I never want to visit Ota again. That was not an attractive area. Not that the other place we went was that much better. But the events themselves were lovely.

A few weekends ago I went with ontogenesis, harumi, and flonnebonne to see the death flowers, otherwise known as manjushage. I went last year as well, but forgot my camera that time. I made sure not to make that mistake again! It was really hot that day, but otherwise pretty much perfect weather. The second day of Comiket was a million times better than the first. Not only was it about twenty degrees cooler, but the line went a lot faster too. They had the brilliant idea of dividing the line for the East and the West halls so that there were separate lines for each. Well, ontogenesis, reppu, koramay, and I made it back alive from Comiket today, despite being roasted in the sweltering heat. We stood outside for about 2 hours with no shade and no breeze.
